We put every Galleria guitar through the following checks before we receive it and again before we ship it to you:
Wood
This is the most crucial component of a quality instrument. We inspect guitars for the quality of wood. Just as important, we check the workmanship in the assembly of the wood components, neck joints, top bracing, etc.
Finish
No instrument is perfect, but ours come close. We refuse instruments with finish defects that are noticeable to the naked eye. In the case of aged or 'distressed' finishes, we check for uniformity and accuracy of aging.
Binding and Inlay
We go a bit further with this inspection. Since there are often so many pieces to an inlay or binding, we check them out under a magnifying glass.
Neck Straightness/Trussrod Adjustment
We've never received a crooked neck from any Guitar Galleria manufacturer, but we still check the neck along with the trussrod adjustment before we perform additional checks on the playability and intonation.
String Height
We measure string height at the nut and twelfth fret to make sure it is within the manufacturer's specifications. (Of course, when you buy an instrument from us, we will set up the guitar for the action you prefer.)
Fret Integrity
Our eagle-eyed tech visually inspects every fingerboard to make sure frets are seated and level.
Intonation
The notes you play at the first fret will be in tune with the notes you play at the thirteenth fret.
Tuners
Both machine and fine tuners are guaranteed to function smoothly.
Electronics
We make sure volume and tone controls, coil-taps, pickup selectors, etc., do what they're supposed to do, and that they do it free from noise.
Hardware Assembly
Endpins, jack plates, pickguards, potentiometers and knobs, bridges, tailpieces -- every piece of hardware on the guitar is screwed in tight before shipment.
Hardware Finish
Nickel- and gold-finished hardware isn't always clean and shiny when we receive the guitar (plating is a dirty process), but it's clean and shiny before we ship it to you. If the hardware is 'aged' we inspect for uniformity and accuracy of aging.
Case and Accessories
Whatever your instrument comes with, an amp, cable, tremolo, etc., is checked out, along with its case, the case locks and hinges before shipment. |
